What is Anat Baniel Method® Neuromovement®?

Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® harnesses the power of brain plasticity to heal, improve learning, overcome pain and limitations, and make life easier. The method uses gentle movement with awareness and the 9 Essentials® as tools to develop, enhance, or restore one’s functional abilities. However, unlike conventional physical therapy interventions and other modalities, this method shifts the focus away from the “problem areas” to where the solutions actually lie, the brain.

*Behavioural intervention services are provided for children/teens diagnosed with ASD, as laid out by the BC Ministry of Children and Families, and in accordance with the family and intervention plans. This method helps helps support the brain in making sense of what is perceived and felt. We do not seek to “fix” the child, rather we look to connect to the child and serve as a bridge for the child to connect with him or herself. This method strives not for an outcome, but for a process of engaged learning starting with where the child is. This is very different from so many therapies which aim to produce certain functions, without building the person up through richly varied subtle experience so that they have a foundation for allowing their brains to figure out how to produce these functions themselves.
